Melbourne Swimming Club (MSC) is excited to announce the appointment of Andelys (Andy) Warren as the new development coach at the MSC Geelong program starting 27 May 2024.

Having previously been the Head coach at Yarra Plenty Swimming Club and La Trobe University Swimming Club,  Andy has a strong background with over 15 years experience coaching swimmers from introductory to elite including medallist at Australian Multi Class and Australian Age Championships.

More recently Andy was the assistant head coach with Geelong Swimming Club, has been part of the Swimming Victoria performance pathway coaching teams, and was also a key member of the Swimming Victoria Women in High Performance Coaching Leadership Project. Andy is well known for her ability to develop strong relationships with both swimmers and parents to ensure athletes reach their full potential.

MSC Head Coach Ian Pope said: ‘Andy is well respected amongst her coaching peers and shows great care for her athletes, so she will be a valuable member of the MSC Geelong program. I would also like to acknowledge and thank Shaun Ward for his support of the MSC Geelong program and wish him well’.

MSC Geelong Senior Coach Lucky Weerakkody commented: ‘ I am excited to be working with Andy to develop the swimmers in our MSC Geelong program. We are fortunate to have a coach with Andy’s experience and passion to build a strong pathway for swimmers from around the Bellarine and Surf Coast area’.

Coach Andy Warren explained: ‘ I have always admired the way that Ian & Lucky have managed their training programs and I am very proud to be working closely with them to develop the MSC Geelong program. . As a club, MSC has achieved some outstanding results since their establishment only a few years ago and it is a great opportunity to build on the current foundations.’
